The Top Flite Giant Scale P-47D Thunderbolt is IMAA legal and one very impressive model. It is an all-wood kit and assembles just as easily as Top Flite's smaller version.
Pilots will enjoy exciting, forgiving war bird flight using a wide range of glow or gasoline engines. The P-47D has a slow stall speed, excellent stall resistance and superb handling characteristics throughout the RPM range—a great introduction to giant scale flying.
Each aileron and flap is operated by its own servo for control authority—along with the security of having a "back up" if one servo fails. The slotted flaps also help to preserve scale lines by internally concealing their horns.
This model is designed to use and requires the custom-made Robart Retracts (ROB622-P47) and does not come with fixed landing gear.
