From 1941, the Bristol Beaufighter Mk.Vi was one of the most feared night hunters of the RAF. With its powerful Hercules engines and the improved aerodynamics through the modified altitude, the MK.VI variant proved itself particularly in the Mediterranean and in the Pacific. The Raaf successfully used the "Beau", as it was affectionately called, in reconnaissance missions and attacks on Japanese ships.
