The Dirt Bite concept revolutionizes tire design by strategically placing the tire pins in a radial arrangement, providing a fresh alignment for racing surfaces. The Square pin, featuring tapered sizing, offers a sharp and flexible feel, adapting seamlessly to diverse racing terrains, whether wet and loamy or under blue and black groove conditions.
The pins share similarities with well-known JConcepts tires such as the Reflex and Triple Dees. However, the robust base and carcass radius of Dirt Bites contribute to the creation of an innovative super tire. Utilizing the established JConcepts continuous radius tire carcass with inner radial ribbing, this design enhances hard corner drivability.
At the ROAR 1/8th Fuel Nationals, Dakotah Phend secured the TQ position using the Dirt Bite tire in Aqua A2 compound, showcasing the design's versatility. Drivers took advantage of the tire's directional ability to find their preferred feel on the grooved track surface. The tire's curvature enables racers to position the tread either in a leading or following stance, applying the compound to the track accordingly. This choice in direction influences how the tread interacts with the surface and which edges bear the brunt of cornering load. Through testing and tuning, racers can determine the optimal configuration for their performance and commit it to memory.
