This set contains the main green colors used by the United States Army and the Marine Corps during World War II. Included are various versions of Olive Drab used during the war. The range of greens starts with a clear matte version used in the years leading up to and the start of World War II, to a darker glossy tone used in 1944. This set also includes OD 50a post WWII version that was used on vehicles throughout the Korean War. This set combines well with AKI4220 US ARMY & USMC CAMOUFLAGE COLORS. To ensure historical accuracy of your finished model AKI paints have been designed taking into account the Scale Reduction Effect*. AKI acrylic paints are water soluble and can be applied by brush and airbrush; additionally, AKI paints are free of odors commonly found in aggressive solvent based paints
AKI's AFV series paints are not only historically accurate and specially formulated with top quality components to exacting standards but take into account the effect of scale reduction. Ready to use straight from the bottle; simply shake, and the paint is ready to go. Dilution is not necessary when airbrushing AKI paints; however, when painting camouflage or fine lines, add a few drops of AKI's specially formulated thinner AKI712. Useful with all acrylic paints, AKI712 improves the performance of the paint and is vastly superior to most other available thinners.
This set contains:
- AKI4211 Olive Drab N9 (FS33070)
- AKI4212 Olive Drab N22
- AKI4213 Olive Drab 50 (FS34087)
- AKI4013 USMC Forest Green (FS34079)
- AKI4214 Light Green Nº1 (FS34151)
- AKI4215 Olive Drab Nº31 (FS34084)
*A model tank reflects less light than an actual full size tank; this means the color applied to the model must be of a lighter shade to look the same as the full sized version. If the exact same shade were applied to each, the model would appear darker as it reflects less light.
