Belted
The Pro Compound tires are very popular with racers everywhere. They give a high grip with an average lifespan.
The X-Pattern Radials work very well on smooth asphalt that is fully prepared (blown off and with traction additive) or semi-prepared (blown off only). Many racers say that the X-Pattern tires work great for carpet racing also!
HPI developed the new belted tires to help prevent the tire from expanding during acceleration. A strip of nylon belt on the inside makes them very similar to full-size racing tires. Another benefit is that the contact patch doesn't squirm as much during cornering. The result of the belted technology is more grip and much longer tire life.
Belted tires are perfect for Nitro racers, the belts keep the tires from expanding (or "ballooning") under the rotational forces while racing.
