The goal with our L-19 is to provide a lightweight Park Flyer that will provide very scale-like flying qualities using inexpensive readily available equipment. The model was designed in true scale outline, though built as “open structure” rather than fully sheeted to keep the flying weight as low as possible.
Construction is primarily of Balsa and Lite Ply and incorporates the typical Old School “Stick & Tissue” style of construction. The tail section outlines are bowed from balsa for maximum strength and minimum weight. The wings are of the “egg crate” style of construction making assembly quick and accurate. The wings and wing struts plug in for easy removal for transport in smaller vehicles.
An economical electric motor provides power for the L-19 with 5-Channel control incorporating a Micro-servo for the rudder and elevator and one Micro-Servo for each aileron and flap.
