The German army used several ordinances for camouflage on their vehicles during WWII. This set includes the most important colours in use from 1937 to 1944, and includes 6 colours designed to represent the initial Dunkelbraun and Dunkelgrey camo, the middle war version of Dunkelgelb and a green colour used by Waffen SS and Polizei units on light and second line vehicles. Finally, the set also includes two different versions of Olivegrun, allowing the modeller to represent the different paint conditions and faded effects for this colour. For the first time, AKI will be able to paint German tanks without complex mixes and hours of research. To ensure historical accuracy AKI paints have been designed taking into account the Scale Reduction Effect*; AKI acrylic paints are water-soluble and can be applied by brush and airbrush; additionally, AKI paints are free of odours commonly found in aggressive solvent-based paints
AKI's AFV series paints are not only historically accurate and specially formulated with top quality components to exacting standards but take into account the effect of scale reduction. Ready to use straight from the bottle; simply shake, and the paint is ready to go. Dilution is not necessary when airbrushing AKI paints. However, when painting camouflage or fine lines, add a few drops of AKI's specially formulated thinner AKI712. Useful with all acrylic paints, AKI712 improves the performance of the paint and is vastly superior to most other available thinners.
This set contains:
AKI704 RAL 7021 Dunkelgrau.
AKI752 RAL 6003 Olivegrün opt.1.
AKI753 RAL 7028 Dunkelgelb (Initial).
AKI754 RAL 7017 Dunkelbraun.
AKI755 RAL 6003 Olivgrün opt.2.
AKI756 Polizei / Waffen SS grün.
*A model tank reflects less light than an actual full-size tank; this means the colour applied to the model must be of a lighter shade to look the same as the full-sized version. If the same shade were applied to each, the model would appear darker as it reflects less light.
