This is a simple to use airbrush compressor, ideal for beginners and those looking for a perfect solution to spray with acrylics, inks and dyes.
The compressor features a simple two mode switch to facilitate this:
In Mode 1, it has an auto-off feature that turns the compressor off when it reaches 20 PSI, and has a working pressure of ~18 PSI. This significantly reduces any potential background noise, as when you are not spraying, it is not running. No noise when not in use, but maintains the compressor for immediate use when needed. Just pick up your airbrush and start painting, and it will turn back on to maintain the working pressure.
In Mode 2, the compressor runs without the auto-off function and runs constantly, with a working pressure of ~22 PSI. In this mode, because it reaches a maximum pressure of 40, it produces more noise, and does not shut off, but provides the higher working PSI of ~22 if needed for slightly thicker or heavier materials.
There is no regulator, only a pressure display, and is meant to be simple to use. The compressor does not have a built in moisture filter, but does include a mini in-line moisture filter to connect in between your airbrush and hose. Teflon tape or another sealant is recommended if using the in-line moisture filter.
The other primary feature of this compressor is that it is very quiet when running in Mode 1. A great option for anyone who is in an environment where noise may be an issue, such as an apartment, living room hobby area, or those that work shift work or have young children where the noise may bother others who may be sleeping when you get a chance to hobby!
Other features include a built-in airbrush holder so that you can store an airbrush with your compressor, and have a place to rest an airbrush between coats; a second output for use with multiple airbrushes at once if you wish (one set up for volume, and another set up for detail); rubberized feet to almost eliminate the small amount of vibration this compressor produces, and prevent it from moving on a surface; and it runs cool, though it does have thermal protection as well.
