The Stevens AeroModel Buzz 400 is modern twist on the vintage free-flight classic Buzzard Bombshell. This classy craft from yesteryear echo's the lines of the original work yet the airframe has been completely re-enginnered to favor radio control. The results of this re-design are stunning in terms of charm, build, and flight performance.
The Build:
Unlike kits and ARF's from other vendors, the Buzz 400 is 100% laser cut from a thoughtful selection of hand picked AAA balsa wood that's sourced from US mills; this means you won't need to sort, re-cut, replace, or hand-cut your own parts and stick wood to complete this fine model. With thoroughly illustrated step by step instructions and beginner friendly advice you also won't get lost during the assembly.
Flight Performance:
The Buzz 400's predecessor is an airframe that is well rooted in championships nationwide. Stevens AeroModel built upon the flight qualities of the vintage Buzzard while modernizing the design to enhance performance for electric radio control flight. Engineered and tested to perform at over 6500' ASL, in the thin mountain air of Colorado, ensures that our product will absolutely exceed your expectations when flown at lower field elevations.
Stable enough for the beginner, the Buzz 400 is commanded by traditional three channel control (Rudder/Elevator/Throttle) and soars in light lift thanks to a generous 40 inch span polyheidral wing. The airframe is "positively stable" in both pitch and roll; the Buzz will right itself and promptly return to wings level flight from any attitude! With a stout, light, large, and stable airframe, we find the Buzz 400 to be well suited for budding pilots; and to ensure the Buzz lasts through those first training sorties we've included a rubber band retained wing and Stevens AeroModel's signature shock mounted landing gear!
Well powered. Power for the Buzz 400 comes from the affordable SA Sport BL400 and 7.4V 1000-1300mAh LiPo Battery; This light weight model combined with this power system delivers enough vertical to make a rocket engineer jealous and ensures that you'll have no problems putting the model into lifting air.
