What lies beneath the replica red and white Discount Tire / Falken Tire Nissan S13 is a custom-designed, purpose built drift chassis that is powered by a real, fuel-burning car engine! The HPI Nitro Star G3.0 engine is a high-revving, nitromethane-powered engine that blows exhaust smoke out the rear of the car, just like Dai's real S13! A durable 4WD shaft drivetrain gets the power down to replica Falken Azenis RT-615K tires wrapped around officially licensed Yoshihara Design Champion wheels, letting you maneuver the car easily around drift courses for ultimate style points! Just like Dai's real car, the Nitro 3 Drift is equipped with coil over shocks, a stiff racing chassis, double-wishbone suspension and enough tuning potential to get you on the winner's podium!
The Nitro 3 Drift is completely pre-built, just like all RTR (Ready To Run) kits from HPI Racing. There are a few supplies you'll need, which your HPI retailer will be happy to provide: nitro car fuel, a fuel bottle and a glow plug igniter with battery. HPI Plazma AA batteries are included with the kit to power the hassle-free 2.4GHz radio system.

Not only does this model have scale replica Falken Azenis RT-615K tires, but it's also fitted with replica Yoshihara Design Champion wheels, designed by Dai himself! The Nitro 3 Drift is super-easy to drive and get familiar with – to drive the car, simply pick up the controller with your left hand, put your left index finger into the trigger area, and then put your right hand on the steering wheel – it’s as natural as driving a real car! Turn the wheel to go left and right and gently pull on the trigger with your left index finger to go forwards. To brake the car and come to a stop, gently push away from you with your left index finger. It takes seconds to get used to this easy operation, and in no time at all you’ll be ripping off amazing sideways drifts, just like Dai!
Completing the replica look of the Discount Tire/Falken Tire Nissan S13 is a complete set of officially licensed Falken Azenis RT-615K tires on Yoshihara Design Champion wheels, which look exactly like the real thing at 1/10th the size! The actual tread of the full-size Falken tires and the real design of the Yoshihara Design Champion wheels really help set off the Nissan S13 body, instantly giving you the look of the Formula Drift Champion!
Fans of racing cars, from real ones to little ones, know that to get the best out of your car you need to have a sturdy, tuneable suspension system. That’s why the HPI Nitro 3 Drift uses a double wishbone suspension at all four corners, fitted with real coil over oil-filled shock absorbers front and rear, just like a real drift car! Thick main suspension arms are mated to durable uprights fitted with a pair of rubber-sealed ball bearings for performance just like Dai's fabulous Formula Drift winner.
All this function is nothing if you can’t customize the car to your liking. Although we’ve set the car to be just about perfect right out of the box, you can easily adjust loads of settings, exactly like a real racing car! Camber angles, ride height, shock angle and more are simple to adjust if you want to dive under the hood – HPI makes it easy to be your own mechanic AND driver! The Nitro Star G3.0 engine is a powerful engine also used in the HPI Firestorm and Bullet 3.0 trucks racing and monster trucks, so it's the perfect powerplant for the Nitro 3 Drift! The engine is fitted with a steel flywheel for smooth idling and a racing-style 2-shoe clutch for excellent acceleration and throttle response. If you want wheelspin, you've got it! The power from the G3.0 engine is steady, rock-solid and at your fingertips: you can easily get insanely fast speeds and instant sideways drift action at the pull of a trigger! A 2-stage air filter protects the carburetor opening from dirt and dust, and the tall forged aluminum heat sink head allows the engine to keep its cool. An all-aluminum rear-exit exhaust system unlocks the horsepower from the engine and throws a trail of real engine exhaust out the rear of the car, just like the real thing!
